Sho-chu
An alcoholic beverage of Japan, most commonly distilled from barley, sweet potato or rice. Typically it is 25% alcohol by volume, making it weaker than whisky, but stronger than wine and sake.

Sake
Japanese alcoholic beverage made from rice. In Japanese, the word sake does not exclusively apply to this specific single beverage; instead, the word Nihonshu (literally, "Japanese alcoholic beverage") is used to distinguish it from other beverages. In English, the word sake never refers to anything other than Nihonshu.
